​Co-curricula activities are offered for students with the understanding that these add value to the curriculum learning being taught. Therefore it must be noted that any additional activities are to enhance student learning.

  •  Indoor heated pool to compliment the physical needs of students and enhance language (view a vodcast that discusses paddling in the pool)
  •  Cycle program with modified bicycles to enhance positional concepts, language and numeracy (view a vodcast that discusses pedalling a bike)
  •  Sailability – small craft sailing program for communication and leisure skills
  •  Yoga – positional learning, language and relaxation (physical well-being)
  •  Choir program – communication, movement
  •  Selected Arts Council and commercial programs
  •  Braille Literacy challenge
  •  Darling Point ‘Fun Run’ & Wellington Point Picnic Day with other special school – social skills, language, leisure


  • Sailing with Sailability Bayside

    Sailability Bayside provides a sailing opportunity for people with all types and levels of disability.

  • Swimming

    Participation in swimming is a valued activity for each student at Narbethong Special School. All students are able to participate in a weekly swimming program that has been developed in consultation with the school physiotherapist.

  • Yoga

    Yoga is supported by the physiotherapist in the school. Students participate in a yoga session once a week. Based on evidence and assessment findings from the initial classroom setup, yoga has been rolled out across the school.
