Gayle Porter - International Trainer
Internationally recognised advocate for communication development for people with complex communication needs. Creator of the Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD) strategy for providing consistent
Gayle presented for two days during January and February 2015 teaching about why and how to use a PODD to facilitate effective communication.
She has since had two blocks of 3 days visiting classrooms and students. The first was in August 2015 where she visited most classrooms and gave ideas for implementation strategies.
The second visit was 14th to 16th March 2016. The purpose of this visit was to enhance and suggest improvements to teaching strategies and increasing the functional levels of the PODD books.
Lee Withall - Advisory Visiting Teacher (Physical Impairment) and PODD trainer
Lee is a teacher with Education Queensland with experience with communication for students with multiple impairments.
Lee presented for staff in term 4, 2014 in preparation for our professional development with Gayle Porter. Lee was also acted as a trainer for Gayle's presentation during January and February 2015.
Kerrie McLean - Speech Language Pathologist Education Queensland
Kerrie has been a long time advocate at both Narbethong and other schools of developing effective communication strategies for all students irrespective of their physical limitations.
Lidia Culpo - Speech Language Pathologist Education Queensland
Lidia is a new speech pathologist employed with our greater results money. She is in the school one day a fortnight working with Kerrie McLean.
