Volunteering

However due to the high support needs of our students, high staff ratios are required to effectively run some of our programs. We are always looking for volunteers to help us provide better and more frequent specialist programs for our students.

Here are a number of ways to volunteer:

• In-class support
• Reading stories with or to students
• Typing documents which are eventually turned into braille
• Playing music
• Assisting in hydrotherapy sessions in the water
• Helping on outings into the community
• Development of classroom resources and programs
• Assisting with special events, such as visits to Sailability 
• Producing materials or play toys for students

At Narbethong we can find use for most skills which are volunteered to the school, and the frequency of your time is completely up to you.

Volunteers must wait for their blue card to be issued before volunteering can be arranged.
