Narbethong State Special School provides specialist education to students with Multiple Disabilities and Vision Impairment (MDVI). Students often start attending Narbethong from soon after birth as part of the Early Childhood Development Program through to their formal schooling years of prep to year 12.
Narbethong has been providing specialist education in Woolloongabba since 1963. Students travel to Narbethong to access its specialised programs from all five local government areas in South East Queensland. Narbethong is also home to the Statewide Vision Impairment Services team that includes The Alternative Format Library (AFL) and Education Low Vision Assessment Centre (ELVAC).

Providing specialist teaching and education to students with multiple impairments and complex medical needs comes with a high price tag. Specialised equipment and learning environments are required to meet the diverse needs and educational outcomes for each student.

Narbethong has a small but relentless P&C who work tirelessly raising funds and advocating for additional support to help meet some of these costs. The P&C are often approached by school and local community members about how a contribution can be made without needing to purchase something through one of the P&C’s many fundraising activities.

Narbethong has a Deductible Gift Recipient fund where donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.
On behalf of the school community, the P&C would like to invite businesses or individuals thinking about donations to consider the school’s deductible gift recipient fund.
