Education Queensland nursing services are available at Narbethong Special School to enable our students with low vision and other disabilities the specialised health requirements needed to access an educational program.
Narbethong Special School has two part time nurses who work with students, parents and school staff to develop individual health care plans and emergency health plans to meet the health, hygiene and safety needs of students enrolled in the school. Parents can contact the nurses at any time to discuss their child’s health needs or any changes that need to be made to the child’s health plans.
The Narbethong Special School nursing team also provides training and supervision for school personnel in the provision of specialised health support for students. The nurse provides ongoing support, both direct and indirect, to school and classroom staff who have been assigned and trained to deliver specialised health procedures to students during school hours.
The nurses also provide outreach services to other schools in the region. From 2012 onwards they are based at Narbethong and are increasingly fulfilling these outreach services. Click here for more information about the
